Prior to joining Hydro One, Mr. Schmidt served as President and CEO at Viterra, Inc., a global integrated agriculture export firm headquartered in Canada. During his tenure, Viterra grew to operate in 14 countries with industrial assets and a supply chain to 50 countries. Mr. Schmidt is currently a director of Agrium, Inc., a global agriculture firm where he serves as the Chairman of the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee and is a member of the Environment, Health, Safety and Security Committee. Mr. Schmidt is a member of Washburn University’s Foundation Board of Trustees and the Lincoln Society. He is a committee member of Harvard University Private and Public, Scientific, Academic and Consumer Food Policy Group.
