Lance Robertson is a long-time journalist and public relations professional. An instructor in the School of Journalism and Communications since 2003, he has taught courses in both the public relations and journalism sequences.
Lance spent the first 25 years of his communications career as a reporter and editor for a handful of Oregon newspapers. He specialized in environmental coverage during a 17-year career at The Register-Guard, where he won numerous state and regional awards for his coverage of some of the most pressing natural resources issues of the last half-century. Life and career
[edit]Originally from St. Louis, Robertson graduated from Hazelwood East High School in 1983.[3] He was the vocalist for a local electronic band called "My Other Self" in the 1990s and the owner of a record store called "Deep Grooves!".[3]
Robertson later relocated to Los Angeles, California.[3] During this time, he was in the band "The Ray Makers". He later met Scott Schultz of the Orange Countyindie pop band Majestic. They eventually played a couple of shows together. Years later, when Schultz was co-creating the show Yo Gabba Gabba!, Robertson was asked to serve as host DJ Lance Rock.
